Des Moines Symphony: Discover Symphonic Dance

The concert opens with Tchaikovsky’s enchanting Sleeping Beauty. Beethoven’s dramatic Grosse Fuge takes on a new life as the BRKFST Dance Company joins the Orchestra to perform their original choreography to the work, which combines break dancing with contemporary dance for an experience unlike anything else. The concert closes with an impossible-to-refuse pull from the past – selections from Ravel’s Mother Goose and Prokofiev’s beloved Romeo & Juliet.
