Best of the Block BBQ Cook-off in Stuart

Mark your calendars for Friday, September 19 through Saturday, September 20 in downtown Stuart for the annual Best of the Block BBQ Cook-Off! This charitable, IBS-sanctioned event brings together top BBQ teams competing for a $3,500 prize purse with payouts for 1st–5th place. The $200 entry fee includes meat (3 whole chickens, 2 racks of ribs, 1 pork butt, and 1 brisket), and registration is open now at GetMeRegistered.com—no last-minute signups, so be sure to register by September 1. Festivities kick off Friday at 6 p.m. with a Chili Feed, and on Saturday the fun continues downtown with breakfast cooked by the BBQ Committee and American Legion (8 a.m.), and the exciting new Kids Super Que competition featuring a breakfast theme with eggs supplied by Rose Acre Farms, and a vendor show from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. The evening wraps up with a BBQ Meat Fest at 6 p.m. (free-will donation) and live music by Randy Burk & The Prisoners from 7–10 p.m. Don’t miss this flavorful weekend in Stuart!
