African Festival of Arts and Culture

Join us September 28, 2024 12:00-9:00 p.m. for a free and joyful celebration of African arts and culture in Iowa! Enjoy food, music, dancing and art from the African groups who call Iowa home. When most people think of Iowa, they do not think of African culture. We are working to change that. Over 30,000 African-born immigrants live in Iowa and the annual African Festival of Arts and Culture aims to celebrate and showcase their rich and diverse presence in our community. This event will feature a variety of activities including music and dance performances, art exhibitions, food, and African displays. It will provide an opportunity for the broader community to learn about and appreciate the vibrant cultures of Africa, fostering a spirit of inclusion and multiculturalism.
