“Monumental Story of Nebraska and the Indian Wars” with Jeff Barnes

The Lewis and Clark Fine Arts Series presents “Contact and Conflict: The Monumental Story of Nebraska and the Indian Wars” with Jeff Barnes at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4 at the Betty Strong Encounter Center. The presentation is a chronological telling of the meetings of Native American and European Americans in Nebraska, from peace through war, as commemorated in historical monuments and markers. Admission is free, with reception to follow. The event is part of the “Fine Arts Series” sponsored by a Humanities Project Grants through the Iowa Arts Council/Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs. The Center comprises a private, non-profit cultural complex built and sustained by Missouri River Historical Development, Inc. (MRHD).
