Shades of Summer Open Ended Plein Air Event

Theme: Shades of Summertime Imagery taken from within the tri-state area (30-mile radius of Fort Madison Iowa) Artwork must have its origins in plein air, started on site, but may be finished elsewhere. All mediums are accepted. Artwork must be no larger than 18” X 24” framed, however they must be finished appropriately for the media and framed/wired (no sawtooth) for sale on canvas/panel or paper. Entry Fee - $35 (Non-Refundable) Awards First Place $250  Second Place: $75 Third Place: $50 plus free entry to Winter/Spring 2025 Plein Air event Honorable Mention: 1 Year Artist Level Membership to Fort Madison Area Arts Association People's Choice: Free entry to the Winter/Spring 2025 Plein Air event. The Details Plein Air Registration Registration starts August 13th at the Fort Madison Area Art Association, 825 Avenue G, Fort Madison from 10-5 then subsequent days during regular business hours Tuesday - Saturday 10a-5p. Canvas, panel and/or paper must be stamped at registration. All work must have the 2024 FMAAA March Plein Air stamp visible after the painting is framed. You may stamp a variety of media - canvas, panel and/or paper. You are not limited in the number of pieces stamped, but you can only submit up to three pieces for the final judging. ONLY BLANK CANVASES/BOARDS/PAPERS WILL BE STAMPED. Artwork must be no larger than 18” X 24” framed. Only works delivered between September 10-September 14, 2024 by 5 p.m. will be eligible for judging.
