The 49th annual ISU Madrigal Dinners, featuring the Iowa State Singers, Musica Antiqua, The Music Men and the Orchesis II Dancers will be presented Friday and Saturday, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union.
Dinner includes Feaste, Wassail punch, salad with raspberry vinaigrette, Pease Porridge, roast sirloin of pork, herb roasted potatoes, Guillotine pull-apart bread, plum pudding, cheese and fruit and coffee.
The evening begins with the trumpet fanfare and the Royal Procession. The court dancers and singers will perform. Later, the boar's head will be paraded throughout the Great Hall, as will the great wassail bowl and the flaming pudding. All performers are fully costumed in late 16th-century regalia, including the King and Queen, the Squires, the Town Crier, the Court Jester, the Beggars and other Lords and Ladies of the Royal Court.
