Edward Abbey once said, "You can't study the darkness by flooding it with light."
Explore the darkness via canoe at Hickory Grove Park from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. when the moon is nearly full. Evening will begin with brief paddling instructions, plenty of time to explore the lake and conclude with a campfire and s'mores. All ages welcome, but at least one adult (18 or older) must be in each canoe. Please wear clothing and footwear that can get wet.
$20 per canoe with pre-registration by 4 p.m. on June 14. Fee includes canoe, gear rental and s'mores. Call 515.232.2516 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
