The Glenn Miller Birthplace Society invites you to “Moonlight Serenade at the Glen Island Casino,” Saturday, February 14, 2015. Gather at the museum for an evening of dinner and dancing to benefit the Glenn Miller Scholarship Fund.
Step back in time and enjoy an elegant five course meal “historically inspired” by the original 1939 menu of the Glen Island Casino, the scene of Glenn Miller’s rise to stardom. Afterward, dance the night away to the sounds of big band music. 1930s themed clothing is encouraged but not required.
A special exhibit on Glenn’s Army Air Force Band will be open for touring, and the museum’s original Glenn Island menu, signed by Glenn and the band, on will also be on display.
Tickets to this “Swing”ing event are $50 each, and a portion of the price is tax deductible. Reservations can be made at the Glenn Miller Birthplace Museum between 1 – 5 p.m., Tuesday – Sunday or by calling (712) 542-2461. The museum is located at 122 W. Clark Street in Clarinda.
