Explore the unique prairie pothole region of Northwest Iowa. Coordinated over a six-county region, including Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, O'Brien and Palo Alto counties. O’Brien County events will be held on Saturday, May 11. At 7:30 a.m., we will search for migrating songbirds and meet for breakfast. At 1 p.m., enjoy a program highlighting the work of Ding Darling - one of Iowa’s most prominent conservation heroes. At 3:30, join the naturalist for a spring wildflower walk at one of our local prairies as a way to celebrate “Iowa Wildflower Week.” Then it’s back to the center at 7:00 p.m. for the wrap up of the weekend with the movie showing of “The Big Year.” Snacks will be provided.
