Fashion-Forward Shopping

Don’t get us wrong, we love shopping malls. But sometimes we’re in the mood for specialty shops and beautiful boutiques – and nothing else will do. When you find yourself dreaming of one-of-a-kind finds, here’s where you have to go.

Water Street, Decorah
Fantastic finds are yours for the shopping on Water Street in Decorah. Stay downtown and you’re within walking distance of the galleries and home décor shops. And, of course, you’ll have to treat yourself to something fun and trendy at their boutiques, including Fancy Pants, and J Tupy’s. Then take a drive through the countryside where you’ll find more family-run boutiques and shops.

Main Street, Cedar Falls
You’ll fall head over heels for Main Street in Cedar Falls. Certified as a cultural district by the state of Iowa, Main Street and the surrounding square mile holds an array of specialty and art shops, historical attractions and exciting boutiques like Lyla’s, and Jennifer’s On Main.

Main Street and Cable Car Square, Dubuque
Stock up on souvenirs and gifts on Main Street and shop three blocks of boutiques and specialty shops on Cable Car Square. Be sure to stop into HJ’s Fashion Emporium on Main for fashionable clothes and shoes. At Cable Car Square, you have to check out Gotta Have It Ladies Boutique for the latest women’s style.

The District, Iowa City
The District is the place to go for everything from vintage finds to ultra-trendy clothing and jewelry. It’s boutique shopping at its best. And be sure to stop by The Velvet Coat, featuring fashionable clothing, footwear and accessories that are wearable, beautifully designed and luxuriously made. If you love name brands, Catherine’s will offer you a wonderful selection.

East Village, Des Moines
Like your shopping with a breathtaking view? The State Capitol makes for a stunning background on your East Village adventure. While you’re there, drop by Aimee for feminine European clothing. Accenti offers the latest clothing from the runway, with all of their clothes chosen for uniqueness and comfort.
