With its quaint, turn-of-the-century storefronts and brick streets, Walnut is a great place to escape from a busy life and spend a day in the country. Given the official title of "Iowa's Antique City" in 1985, Walnut features 15 antique shops, as well as a quilt shop, gun emporium and the best bakery in Southwest Iowa. Surrounded by corn fields and one of Iowa's largest wind farms, the scenery and the shops are well worth the drive for any of Walnut's annual events or just for a fun afternoon!
