Must Do's
Nestled in a valley on the Raccoon River and Historic U.S. Route 6, Adel offers a chance to experience Iowa's past. Explore the brick streets, historic courthouse, downtown turn-of-the-century architecture and distinctive shops throughout. Make a weekend of it and book a room at Big Blue Bed and Breakfast to experience a night inside an 1890s Victorian home.

Outdoor Recreation
Get your wheels spinning or legs moving on the Raccoon River Valley Trail, which has a 72 mile loop within 89 miles of paved all-purpose trail. Trail users can also experience the lighted bridge that crosses the Raccoon River.

Community Highlights
Make a trip into town for exciting events such as the Special Olympics Car Show in June, the Sweet Corn Festival in August, the Hometown Holiday Celebration in December and a seasonal weekly Farmers Market.
